2009 Bill Teel Scholarship Information

Applications are now available for MCT's 2009 Bill Teel Memorial Scholarship Award.  Members who will be attending an accredited college, university, or other institution of higher learning during the 2009-2010 school year are eligible to apply for one of four $1,500 scholarships to help pay for tuition.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

1.      The applicant must be an MCT member who is in good standing.  This means the student musthave an account is his/her name with no outstanding obligations. Joint owners are not considered members.

2.      MCT Employees, Directors, Committee Members and/or their family members are not eligible.

3.      The applicant must be planning to attend an accredited college, university, or other institution of higher learning full time during the 2009-2010 academic year.  Undergraduate or graduate students of any age are eligible.

  

Instructions:

 

The applicant must submit the following to MCT by April 3, 2009.  Incomplete or late entries will not be considered.

 1.      Scholarship Application

2.      Official sealed school transcript(s)  (Current college students who do not yet have a college transcript, must submit a high school transcript)

3.      School and Community Activities Sheet

4.      250-500 word essay, typed and double-spaced, addressing his/her academic ambitions and plans upon completion of his or her education

Rules:

1.      The decisions of the judges are final. MCT reserves the right to cancel the competition or disburse less than four awards.

2.      A check in the amount of $1,500 will be paid directly to the educational institution of each winner, once proof of registration is submitted to MCT.  Funds must be applied to the 2009-2010 academic year.

3.       Four winners will be selected and contacted by June 30, 2009. The summer quarterly newsletter, which will be available at the end of July, will announce the winners’ names.
