Even if you don't live near an MCT branch, it's still easy to access your checking account by using our electronic services or visiting a Credit Union Shared Branch. Plus, there are nine in-school branches located throughout Montgomery County, which are operated by students.
It’s easy to switch your checking account to MCT!
Step 1:
Open your Student Checking Account.
- Online Banking: If you’re already an MCT member, you can open a checking account through Online Banking.
- Online: Complete an online application
- Branch: Visit any MCT branch

Step 2:
Use MCT's Switch Kit.
MCT's switch kit provides step-by-step instructions and customizable letters that will help you change your direct deposit, switch over your automatic payments, and close your old checking account(s). There is even a checklist so you won’t miss a thing.
*A parent or guardian's signature is required for members under the age of 18 to open a Checking Account. Foreign ATM fees are waived until the age of 23. This is the fee that MCT charges members for using ATMs not owned by MCT.Surcharges may still apply. This is the fee that the financial institution who owns the ATM charges.
